SCI San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) was incorporated as a non-profit organization in October 1983 under Section 501(c)(4). When Safari Club International (SCI), a national 501(c)(3) organization, established the Safari Club International Foundation (SCIF) as a 501(c)(4) sister organization, SFBA aligned with this new entity. As a result, SFBA continues to operate under SCIF’s guidelines and maintains its status as a 501(c)(4) organization.
With such a long history, it’s no surprise that the Bay Area has experienced its share of ups and downs, particularly when it comes to hunting and firearms. As a 501(c)(4) organization, we do not engage in political advocacy. However, we make it a priority to keep our members informed about important developments and actions being taken at the local, state, and federal levels, ensuring they have the knowledge needed to stay informed and involved.

Safari Club International welcomes new members to help in the fight to protect hunting and to conserve wildlife around the world. By joining SCI, you support both hunting and conservation. As a member, you’re brought together with other like-minded hunters and you receive an exclusive array of benefits. These benefits include discounts on products and services, as well as insider news and other information that is not available anywhere else.

Once you are a member of SCI, you can join a local chapter like ours to support the missions of SCI and help in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We raise money and provide services right here by conducting hands-on conservation projects, education activities and humanitarian efforts, and contribute to these same efforts around the world.

Your membership level with a local chapter cannot exceed your SCI level. To be a lifetime member of our chapter you also must be a lifetime member of SCI.
